What's In A Name

I've changed the name! For those of you who have just tuned in, what was formally "The Spin" is now "Fat Guy on a Little Bike".

This is to pay homage to Chris Farley, a comic genius. One of my favorite bits was fat guy in a little coat.

I have searched the blog over and noticed that the ones I am most intersted in have cool names and interesting angles. This really is only a personal journal for myself but if someone is going to read it I would like for them to enjoy it.

Hence the name! When you weigh in around 245 to 255 depending on the time of year and you ride road bikes you get noticed. Let's face it, it is funny.

That is until you get dropped by said fat guy.

I have enjoyed reading my previous posts and being able to determine that I have in fact improved in performance and somewhat in knowledge. But now it is time to take away the self depreciating tone of my blog and start to exert my real personality. My favorite picture I have on my desk comes from Despair.com. They make posters that poke fun of Success posters.

This one is entitled "Pretention: The downside to being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you're pretentious". And is has a great picture of a mountain top and a guy standing on top of it.

I have some rides picked out for the year and look forward to my first century, maybe multiples. I have also told several friends who do Tri's that this is the year I do one. Actually the sprint versions are all I will be attempting seeing as how I don't know how to properly swim or run and have done neither in many years.

But hey, if I let that stop me I never would have ridden a road bike a year and a half ago.

So if you run across this blog by accident or I have finnaly debuted it somewhere, I hope you enjoy and can offer some contructive advice.
